London - London Bridge

London - London Bridge

London Bridge connects the City of London and Southwark. Up unti 1729 when the Putney Bridge was opened, London Bridge was the only bridge over the Thames downstream. The bridge continues to be a famous attraction even despite warnings that the bridge is falling down. In 1962 the bridge nearly collapsed and the City of London sold it to Robert McCulloch, an American hero and founder of Lake Havasu City, Arizona. The bridge was re-assembled by Mr. McCulloch in Arizona, and was shipped in 1968 to its present location where reconstruction was completed in 1971.
