Two cable cars that hold about 30 passengers can reach the top of Mount Srd in just 4 minutes, making a 405-meter ascent above sea level. There is a cafŽ bar and restaurant on top of the mountain, but visitors come here for one of the best panoramic views of Dubrovnik and the surrounding islands. The cable car began transporting passengers in 1969, but was completely destroyed during the Croatian War of Independence in the early 90's. It has since been restored and reopened in 2010.
