Ljubljana - The Butcher's Bridge
The Butcher's Bridge was built in 2010 from a plan envisioned by Slovenian architect Jože Plecnik over a hundred years ago. The footbridge connects the Ljubljana Central Market to the Petkovšek Embankment. The modern bridge, which was revised to be simpler than Plecnik's design, features a staircase in the left entry, glass walking belts on both sides, and two fences with steel wires and wide top shelves. The new design came from architect Jurij Kobe. The Butcher's Bridge is decorated with works by the sculptor Jakov Brdar.
