Copenhagen - Reflections of Christiansborg Palace at Dusk
Located in Copenhagen's Slotsholmen Island or Castle Island, Christiansborg Palace is surrounded by canals, bridges and many historical buildings. The palace is the house of Denmark's three supreme powers - the executive power, the legislative power, and the judicial power - and is the only building in the world that houses all three of a country's branches of government. Although the first castle was built in the site in 1167, many incarnations have stood here including Bishop Absalon's Castle. The existing Christiansborg Palace is the 5th castle that has been built on the same area.
