Vaucluse - Lavender Field in front of Sénanque Abbey
The 12th-century Notre-Dame de Senanque is a Cistercian abbey founded by 12 monks from the Mazan abbey. It is located in the French department of Vaucluse, near Gordes, in Provence. Sénanque is still an active monastery where monks still live and worship. In the summertime during lavender season, tourists flock to this site to appreciate the sight and smell of its fragrant fields.
