Eastbourne - Eastbourne Pier
One of the last remaining Victorian piers in England, Eastbourne Pier is a seaside pleasure pier in East Sussex. Formally opened by Lord Edward Cavendish in 1870, the pier is built on stilts that rest in cups on the seabed allowing the whole structure to move during rough weather. At the end of the pier is a tower that is often used as a viewing point during the annual air show. The city of Eastbourne, dubbed as the sunniest place in England, attracts over 4 million visitors a year.
