Cusco - Fountain in Plaza de Armas
Plaza de Armas is the main center of the city of Cusco. The Plaza was known as "Huacaypata", or Place of Tears or the Weeping Square, in the time of the Incas. Here, ceremonies and military parades were hosted in honor of warriors and celebration of victories.
The Plaza is flanked by Cusco Cathedral and a few other churches, and also a lot of colonial buildings. These buildings were built right on top of the original Inca plaza that was twice the size it is today. There is also a centerpiece fountain surrounded by benches were locals like to hang out.
