Pirmasens is a district-free city in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, near the border with France. It is famous for the manufacture of shoes. A striking feature of the city square is the Ramba-Treppe, a wide curving flight of steps with beautiful cascades, with St. Pirminius church situated at the top.
