Santorini - Blue-Domed Church in Oia
The churches of Santorini are part of its landscape, together with the whitewashed cycladic houses that hug the cliffs. The churches bear much of the cubist architectural style with Western influence. Most of those that survived the volcanic eruptions and the 1956 catastrophic earthquake are the one-aisled basilica type and the cruciform-shaped domes. At present, there are over 250 churches in Santorini.
