Lodore Falls is a series of cascades on Watendlath Beck that can be reached from Derwent Water. It is impressive right after a rainfall with the main drop measuring to about 100 feet. Robert Southey's famous poem "Cataract of Lodore" that written in 1820 was inspired by the falls.
